Why didn't I receive the secret code in my email after triggering the MFA prompt ?
Ensure that you are checking the email address associated with your Jira account. Emails may sometimes land in the spam or junk folder. Always check these folders if you don't find the email in your primary inbox.
There may be a slight delay in email services at times. Wait for a few minutes before triggering a resend. If you've requested multiple codes in a short time, consider waiting for a bit as you may have hit a temporary limit.
What happens if the secret code expires before I use it ?
Each secret code has a lifespan of 15 minutes. If not used within this timeframe, it will expire.
If your code expires, you will need to request a new one via the MFA interface on Jira.
An expired code will not grant you access, and using it may decrement your allowed attempts.
I've been locked out due to multiple incorrect code entries. What should I do ?
For security reasons, the plugin limits the number of incorrect code entries to prevent unauthorized access.
If you've exhausted all your attempts, your account will be temporarily locked.
To regain access, you will need to contact your Jira platform administrator to have your account unlocked.
What happens if the secret code expires before I use it ?
You can use several devices to connect to Jira. Each device connection is managed separately as a session.
You can also login from multiple browsers on the same device. On the other hand, disconnecting a session from the device will ask you for a secret code for other sessions opened on other browsers of the same device.
Is MFA available on mobile ?
The MFA cannot be applied on the mobile application (Android or IOS).
However, it is possible to open it in any mobile browser (view in desktop version).
